New route and many news for the edition number 39 of Mugello's Marathon, Italy's oldest marathon, presented this morning at the Mugello circuit. The choice of the Ferrari track for the presentation is motivated by the new route of the race that will cross the green park inside the Mugello circuit. At present the route technically Giacomo Tagliaferri, Mugello's citizen, former Italian champion of Marathon. The runners will enter the Palagio entrance, covering about 3.5 km of internal roads in the green, between ascents and descents, and was released from the helmet-porter of the circuit and heading for Borgo San Lorenzo.
"We are proud of this partnership - said the director of the circuit, Paolo Poli - which brings added value to the territory. We provide green spaces of the circuit at an event with which we have much in common, starting from the identical starting year of activities - in 1974 - and with which we begin a long process of collaboration. " The manager of the circuit is was then handed the No. 1 bib.
The presentation was also attended by the President of the Union of Municipalities of the Mugello, Giovanni Bettarini, and provincial Councillor for Sports, Sonia Spacchini, in addition to full staff of the organizers of the Marathon, the 'Athletic Marciatori Mugello.
The 2012 edition of the Marathon, dedicated to the memory of Roberto Gherardi, will be held Sept. 22 with departure and arrival from Borgo San Lorenzo. Also new this year, the 'derby', reserved for families, and the pasta party for all conclusive.
Registration will be open today and will end only a few minutes before the race.
